The Lenten Course run by Churches Together in Newquay continues on Tuesday 5th April at 7.30pm in the Griffin Hotel. This session will be led by Major Carol Lockhart and Captain Penny Sullivan of the Salvation Army.

Shelterbox

In the light of recent events in Japan, New Zealand and Australia, it seems apposite that we should contribute to Shelterbox as they strive to meet the needs of so many homeless persons at this time. There will be retiring collections at our services on Sunday 20th and 27th March, and also at the free evening concert on Wednesday 23rd March at 7.30pm.

Stations of the Cross

On Sunday 27th March at 6pm there is to be a United Service at the Roman Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Tower Road. We understand that Fr Mark is to lead a meditation on The Stations of The Cross, so please come and support our ecumenical gathering.

Jane’s Ordination and First Mass

As we look forward to The Rev’d Jane Kneebone’s Ordination to the Priesthood on Saturday 2nd July, please make a note in your diaries now, that she will celebrate her First Mass the following day, Sunday 3rd July. That service will be at 4.00pm, so we will be able to have a “bit of a do” afterwards. There will NOT be a 10.30am Eucharist on that Sunday.

Please see the various Notices displayed in the Narthex, check your entry on the Electoral Roll, and make the Nominations required for Churchwardens, Deanery Synod and PCC Representatives. Secretaries of Committees, Groups and Societies should ensure that Sylvia Horne receives your reports as soon as possible.

The Lenten Course run by Churches Together in Newquay begins Tuesday 15th March and continues every Tuesday during Lent. We shall meet, as usual, in the Griffin Hotel at 7.30pm and this year we follow the “York Course” (written by The Rt Rev’d Stephen Cottrill). The first session will be led by The Rev’d Peter Davy.

Hood River Valley High School Chamber Singers

We look forward to welcoming the Hood River Valley High School Chamber Singers from Oregon, USA, to St Michael’s for a free evening concert on Wednesday 23rd March. We hope that we can provide a full audience for this young choir.

MAPping

The next MAPping Session will be on Saturday 19th March, again at the Sports Centre at 10.30am. We are grateful to those who have supported the previous mornings, and look forward to seeing them, and perhaps a few others, at what will, probably, be the last in the present series.
